Getting to the Gala Weekend

This year’s Gala Weekend is taking place at Benfield School which is based in the Walkergate district of Newcastle. The school is within easy reach of Walkergate and Chillingham Road Metro stations and is on a major bus route with easy links to the city centre. There’s also plenty of free onsite parking.

What time does it start?

The Gala Weekend runs from 10am – 4pm on both days with various author signings and sessions staggered throughout the day, so make sure you plan ahead to make the most of your visit.

Anything else?

Refreshments are available to purchase from the cafeteria or feel free to bring a packed lunch and have a family picnic!

If you get lost on the day we’ll have designated volunteers on-hand who will be happy to point you in the right direction.

A crèche service is available throughout the Gala Weekend for very young children and babies. You can pre-book this service or enquire at the reception desk on the day of your visit for further details.
