Dream a Little Dream

This year’s festival is based around the theme of Dream a Little Dream which really lends itself well to the creativity and imagination of reading.

Everyone likes to read before bed, the dreams we have are heavily influenced by the stories we read in our favourite books. Dream a Little Dream sums up the unicorns, magic carpets, castles and witches we’ve all discovered in the land of nod.

The Gala event that traditionally marks the end of the festival will now take place over a whole weekend meaning you’ve now got even more opportunity to meet your favourite literary hero.

Across the weekend we've got a number of fun activities taking place including some fantastic performers and artists who will be helping you to bring the Dream a Little Dream theme to life.

We've also got some great exhibitors at the Gala Weekend including Local Authorities, a library stall, Seven Stories, Tyne and Wear Museums and Family Learning.

Luna Tricks will be performing his walkabout show and a magician will be on hand to amaze you!
